Michael S. Solomon, DO, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist and refractive eye surgeon. He performs cataract, LASIK, pterygium and glaucoma surgery. Dr. Solomon has a passion for helping people reduce dependency on glasses after cataract surgery. He treats glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disorders.
As a Denver native, and “Rose Baby,” born at Rose Medical Center, Dr. Solomon established deep roots in the Denver community. He earned his bachelor’s in biology from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, then his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Missouri. His internship and residency in ophthalmology took him to Beaumont Hospital (Botsford General Hospital – Detroit Consortium) with Michigan State University. His fellowship in refractive surgery was completed under the guidance of Michigan State University but took place in Colorado.
In his leisure time, Dr. Solomon enjoys spending quality time with friends and family, alpine skiing at “the Beav,” fly fishing on the Eagle River, and relishing all the outdoor recreation in the Colorado Rockies. Dr. Solomon has a Labrador retriever, Elway, who cherishes quality time with his human anytime, anywhere.
